Independence Day is an occasion for joy and merriment as
the tricolor is unfurled in CMS Campuses and the Head
Office and patriotic songs rent the air. On this day, August
15, the whole country is gripped with patriotic fervor and
new resolutions are made. It was on this day that the
country achieved its independence after 200 years of
British rule. Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru, the first Prime
Minister of India delivered his famous speech on 15 August
1947, "Long years ago, we made a tryst with destiny. Now
